City of York One2One Photo Workshop
Day & Dusk (Street Lamps and Alleyways) workshop
£250 (includes free eBook)
Various dates available for this winter half day and dusk workshop. Email me with your choice of date.
The historic City of York. Beautiful by day, even better by night!
During the afternoon, we will cover a range of techniques required for urban photography. We’ll look at the use of different lenses, reading the histogram, getting creative at popular locations and how to use filters in the urban environment.
After dark we explore the back-streets and alleyways (snickets) that create a maze around the city’s streets. Gas lamps light our way, creating mysterious and atmospheric locations. This is film Noir York style. Not only will you capture some unique images, but you’ll also learn solid photography techniques shooting in these challenging conditions. We’ll cover exposure, ISO settings, focusing, shutter speeds and white balance.
All shooting handheld! Oh yes! No tripods for this workshop. We push your camera to its limits!
The workshop starts around 1pm (depending on time of year) and lasts up to 6 hours.
Please Note: This Day & Dusk workshop only runs November - February
You will need to bring:
- Digital SLR or CSC camera (Olympus OMD, Fuji X-Pro etc).
- A range of lenses from wide angle to telephoto.
- A tripod is banned!, though filters will be useful if you have any. We have a range of Lee Filters for you to try otherwise.
