The Coffeeshop Workshop

On many of my photography workshops, especially the City Photo Walks, we break for coffee to rest or escape a sudden downpour of rain and it gives us all a chance to recap and discuss the more intimate details of camera techniques. It also gives me a chance to do a short image review and give feedback on either pictures taken that day or that the student has brought with them. This very often is the time when my participants learn the most on the day. Simply by sitting down with a coffee, answering questions and discussing out favourite subject - photography.
On this workshop, we meet at a coffee shop and I can talk you through the controls of your camera at your pace and answer all the questions you have about using your camera.
I will provide a presentation that covers the basic skills that apply to all types of photography, which as a complete novice you may be struggling to comprehend (we've all been there!), plus a fun quiz to test your knowledge.
I will explain in simple, easy to understand terms, the basics of digital photography and any other technique, feature or skill that may be holding you back from enjoying your hobby.
As part of the workshop, we can also review your portfolio and point you in the right direction for making improvements. We can review your images from an SD card on the back of your camera, on your phone or tablet or you can bring along some traditional prints.
Each coffeshop workshop lasts up to 3 hours, which can include an optional 1 hour walkabout to put the theory into practice. And what's more, the coffees are on me!

This workshop takes place in the historic city of York, in North Yorkshire
