New computer blues
So, I had decided it was about time I upgraded my computer, as my old Pentium 4 was straining under the demand to work hard with memory hungry programs and several years of being clogged up with the excess of junk that computers swallow up over time. I opted for a Quad Core model with 4GB of Ram and configured to run Vista 64bit, so that this could later be upgraded to 8 or even 12GB when needs be. However, after a week of running perfectly, I was greeted with an ugly error message when launching Photoshop CS3, informing me that ‘The licence on this product has stopped working’! Apparently a known error to Adobe, yet none of their fault finding solutions would clear it and open the program.
8 days, 23 hours, hours of phone calls and one re-formatted hard drive later, we are up and running again. Needless to say, that Adobe Technical Help sucks big time and I am so behind on my processing, as I couldn’t use CS3 at all during this blackout, even on my old computer because it couldn’t be de-activated. The only upside to the nightmare, is that some serious complaining about lost earnings etc, has got me a full copy of CS4 for free. I’m happy again, but boy, its been stressful week.
